A year ago, I could order a meal in badly-spoken Spanish at any taqueria in Mexico, but I wasn't so sure about ordering bones from a butcher in Mexico, but you might be surprised at how quickly you can figure out the important things - and making friends with street dogs is ranked pretty high for me.
